Very confusing talking about words being masculine and feminine and singular and plural; what the……

Word                 Masculine                 Feminine

a / an                             un                            una                     SINGULAR

some                             unos                        unas                     PLURAL

the                                 el                             la                         SINGULAR

the (-s)                         los                           las                        PLURAL

Spanish Adjectives:

The green house (English)                              La casa verde  (Spanish = the house green)

Refers to p.11 of the manual we don’t have!!!!

Important to remember that words must agree with each other both in gender and in number; go figure…… ;)

Most words that end in o are masculine and most words ending in a are feminine. Like English plurals end in the letter s.

Un banco = a bank

Un correo = a post office

Una tienda = a store

Una oficina = an office

Un baño = a bathroom

Una piscina = a swimming pool

Una revista = a magazine

Un periódico = a newspaper

Una casa = a house

Un documento = a document

Post from ABB says:

Vamanos!

Vivió in Madrid para dos anos!

  • What does this mean? I am not entirely sure. However I do know that Vamanos! = let’s go! (thanks to ABB), that Madrid is the capital of Spain (I listened in school) and that dos = two (thanks to Visual Link™).
